I watched the news with fascination during the Pope’s three day visit to Palestine on the 25th – 27th May 2014. This image is the one that stands out from his trip to the Holy land. I’m glad that he saw the other side of Bethlehem, away from Manger Square.
The graffiti on the Separation Wall in and around Bethlehem is fantastic. From an artistic perspective it is visually compelling. Similarly to the Berlin Wall, it is used as a canvas to call for freedom, equality and justice. Here are some photos that I took of graffiti on the wall during my visit to Palestine:
